“Snakecharmers” (Re-Release) by Bone Dance

Doom Metal/Sludge Metal

Released August 27th 2013

Bone Dance’s 2010 EP “Snakecharmers” has finally gotten a proper release, and this is my first time actually hearing the EP for myself all the way through. With that in mind, hopes were immediately high given all I’ve heard, and those hopes were met with daring metal, created with a sickly combination of extreme metal, subtle hardcore, sludge, and doom metal, reeking of grime, terror, and anger all through. “Snakecharmers” may only pack 3 tracks, but they are 3 damn good tracks, bathed in a sense of uneasiness carried by a barrage of chunky riffs and clamorous drums. It truly is a draining experience in a sense, as Bone Dance chugs mindlessly away, creating heavy walls of noise and even terror. The only real problem is the fact that “Snakecharmers” is only 3 tracks long, and while they work really well while they last, I’m left hungry for more as the album closes and unwinds from its sludgy tension. Here’s hoping the next thing I hear from Bone Dance is a full length album, because I need more, and I need it as soon as possible.

Rating: 4.5/5 (Incredible!)
